Day 2: New Orleans
Howdy Howdy AMERICA! We woke up bright and early this morning at 6:00am. We were up before out wake up call (but it was a tough move for it being day one), and were all ready to go by 6:30am. We loved our cabins and felt like REAL CAMPERS! It was hot and sticky while going to sleep, but COLD when we woke up!
We all packed up our things, rolled up our hammocks and sleeping bags, and headed on. We took an early drive through the campus of Auburn University and had our first research presentation of the trip! We learned a lot of cool, fun and also funny jokes about The state of Georgia, LaGrange College, Auburn University, and the State of Alabama.

After our AMAZING presentations by our wonderful friends, we loaded the bus and vans and headed to our new favorite store WALMART! We ate donuts and bananas for breakfast - thank you Happys! We have been learning a lot about budget for the cooks and we have been doing really well (or so we've been told.)

We found some Auburn gear at the WALLY WORLD!
Lots of bonding occurred on the road today, people connected more as they began to become more comfortable with everyone and being around this many people. We shared countless stories and learned about one another all day. We can't wait to see how close everyone gets by the end of the trip!
Our next stop was in Mississippi (spell that two times fast - for real, some of us tried) at another rest stop before continuing on our way to New Orleans!
Kat and Ella enjoying lovely gourmet CHICKEN CEASAR WRAPS!
Finally after what felt like longer than the original rendition of American Pie, we arrived into the HUMID New Orleans, Louisiana. Luckily for us it was cloudy so it wasn't as hot. The culture was immensely different to that of the smaller towns in North and South Carolina that we hail from. A few people were fortunate enough to stop at Café du Monde and eat some delicious beignets. We are going to test the difference in those with the ones at Disneyland - for educational purposes only of course! Others spent time in the local shops and bought shirts, aprons, hats, and stickers. New Orleans was quite the experience!
Calee introducing us to LOUISIANA!
Max teaching us all about Jackson Square
Kate giving her research on the St Louis Cathedral
Delaney telling us all about Cafe Dumonde!
Emma Plonk introducing us to the Mississippi River!
Davis telling us about Bourbon Street!
The staff tricked us into taking their photo!!
After exploring, of course we went to the WALLY WORLD! We had to load uppppp!
Clayton getting in his calories by a whole jug of chocolate milk!
The boys prepping for tonights competition! Driggs - what are you wearing?
The cooks prepared us a lovely spaghetti dinner with a salad!
We spent the night doing our dixie land delight competition (We will share those videos when we are home) and the GRUMPYS brought home the win!!!!!!!!
We love you guys! Over and out, Bashful's!
