Day 18-Custer, South Dakota and Mt. Rushmore

DAY 18 - Custer, South Dakota and Mt. Rushmore

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, FAMILY!

Happy's back again, and today we woke up to the "beautiful" Wyoming weather at the Ponderosa Campground. Everybody struggled with damp sleeping bags and laundry due to the dew. We geared up in our 4th of July attire, and headed out around 8. For breakfast, we feasted upon gourmet Poptarts and nutritious oranges. A long day of bus riding was filled with listening to the new Zach Bryan album, playing games, journaling, and more.

Ms. V and Driggs waking us up in the most American way!
Decorating the golf cart for the Ponderosa campground owners.

A little 10:30 a.m. ice cream!
Munching up on gas station treats! :p
Walmart time!!! We haven't been in over 24 hrs!
Stocking up!
Our wonderful cooks prepping for another delicious meal.

Now onto the park! We made it to Custer, SD around 3:30 p.m. We were so excited to MOVE! Some played on the playset, some danced, some rolled down hills...this was after our research!

Handsome young lad here with Rodeos in Cody, Wyoming.

Now time to practice for our dance competition (it's tomorrow night!) We are doing it to "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and the counselors played it over...and over... and over...

Here's a sneak peak of some of our group ideas....

Part 2
Time to cook! We had an American meal - HOT DOGS!

After we ate dinner and practiced our dance, we dropped the trailers off at the YMCA where we are staying tonight, and then we made our way to MT RUSHMORE!

Pretty smiles!
"Act like Mt Rushmore!"
Yumm!
Nice flavor choices Emma!
Feeling patriotic tonight.

Twinning!

After spending some time observing the majestic presidents, shopping, and buying more ice cream, we headed back to the YMCA in time to catch the firework show. Everyone rushed to stuff their new gifts into their duffles. We all enjoyed the colorful bursts of American pride that filled the night sky! Lights were out at 10:30, good night fam!!
